Apprentice Contract
Even though it is a fixed-term employment contract, you are required to provide at least one month's notice before the ending of the apprenticeship as to whether the apprentice will continue working in your salon or not. Also, you MUST treat your apprentice like any other employee, as they accrue the same entitlements, e.g. holiday/sick pay from DAY ONE! If the apprentice has not signed the training contract then they MUST be paid as a casual level 1 under the Award.

Apprentice RTO Fee Reimbursement Agreement
Your apprentice can pay for their TAFE/RTO course costs/textbooks upfront and with this written agreement, you can pay them back up to 6 months after the commencement of the course. REMEMBER - since 1 January 2015, all employers MUST pay for the apprentice's TAFE/RTO course costs and textbooks. Casual Contract
Please note that casuals are employed on an hourly basis and therefore can provide one hour's notice to you that they will no longer be working for you and vice versa. However, if you are a small business with 15 or less employees and your casual has been employed for more than 12 months, they could lodge an unfair dismissal claim if no further shifts are provided.

Full Time Contract

Individual Flexibility Agreement
An IFA is a written agreement used by an employer and employee to change the effect of certain clauses in the Hair & Beauty Industry Award. It is used to make alternative arrangements that suit the needs of the employer and employee. Under the Award, the following terms can be varied using this agreement include: (a) arrangements for when work is performed; (b) overtime rates; (c) penalty rates; (d) allowances; and (e) leave loading.

Non Consecutive Days Agreement
Use this agreement if your employee does not wish to take two consecutive days off within the week or three consecutive days off within a fortnight period.

Non Solicitation Agreement
A contract in which an employee agrees not to solicit a salon's clients, for their own benefit or for the benefit of a competitor, after leaving the salon.

Part Time Letter of Engagement
A part-time employee is employed to work less than 38 hours per week. An employer and employee have to agree on a regular pattern of work when the employee starts. The agreement has to be in writing and include: (a) the hours worked each day; (b) the days of the week the employee will work; (c) the start and finish times each day; (d) that any change to the agreement will be in writing; (e) that the minimum daily hours is 3 hours (f) the times and length of meal breaks. The employer has to keep a copy of the agreement, and give a copy to the employee.

Replacement of Uniform Agreement
